​Wife of Niger State Governor in Collaboration with FADAMA 111+AF Empowers 500 Women in 3 Local Governments

The wife of the Niger State Governor Dr Amina Abubakar Bello in collaboration with FADAMA III Additional Fund has donated six multipurpose crop milling machines and threshers to 18 women cooperatives in the state.

She also registered the women in the communities into different women cooperative groups for easier coordination and access to soft loans and grants should the need arise.


According to the Wife of the Governor who commissioned the processing centre in Kuchita, Lavun Local Government said, this is a fulfilment of a campaign promise made to the women in the communities.

She said the women who are predominantly farmers had requested to be empowered with machines to enable them process their crops easily after havesting adding that the machines will enable them process rice, groundnut, soya beans etc.

 Bello further stated that the decision to situate the processing plant on their farms is to reduce the stress and cost of transporting their crops to other locations for processing.

 She employed them to make judicious use of the opportunity to enable them take care of their families and through the proceeds also give back to the society.
The next commissioning will be in kudame, in Paikoro Local Government Area.
