PDP splinter group to inaugurate NWC

January 3, 2018

Some aggrieved members of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the banner of ‘Fresh PDP’ have said that they will inaugurate what they termed authentic National Working Committee (NWC) of the party on January 22, 2018.

‘Fresh PDP’ has its national secretariat at Asokoro, in Abuja, where the parallel NWC would be operating against Mr Uche Secondus-led NWC, which is operating at Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja.

Addressing newsmen yesterday in Abuja, leader of the splinter group, Mr Emmanuel Obi-Nwosu, who spoke on behalf of other members, insisted that they would “fight to the finish” until result of PDP December 9, 2017 national convention which produced Secondus as national chairman was cancelled and a fresh convention organized.

The group also announced that henceforth, they would not allow PDP Governors’ Forum to function, arguing that the forum was alien to the party’s constitution.

However, a former deputy director general of Prof. Tunde Adeniran Campaign Organisation, Mr Olukayode Akindele, who is also a member of the ‘Fresh PDP’ said his principal was not behind the movement.
