The news that surfaced in the media on the 5th November about the death of Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abu Ali, has yet to die down across Nigeria.
Late Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Abu Ali and four other soldiers were killed by Boko Haram insurgents after a fierce battle.
Ali, a recipient of the Chief of Army Staff Award for exceptional bravery and excellence, led the army units that recovered Gamboru-Ngala, Baga and several communities from the terrorists. His death came at a time the Nigerian troops are gradually flushing out the insurgents into extinction with sustained attacks on their hideouts.
Ali has been buried in Abuja alongside other soldiers who died during the battle.
